How Martial Arts Training Prevents, Repairs, and Rehabilitates Joints
If you are experiencing joint pain (ex. ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulders, spine, neck), there are varying ways to eliminate or alleviate your discomfort.
Most people experience joint pain for the following reasons:
For pain stemming from tears or injury to ligaments and tendons, using movements to increase range of motion and strengthen the muscles in and around the joint will eliminate pain. Many students have received limited physical therapy and use the training to not only rehabilitate their bodies but to build the willpower to continue to do so by themselves.
Some diseases, arthritis and bursitis are the results of toxins accumulating in the joints. Moving and increasing the circulation in the joints will prevent or alleviate this type of pain.
For joint pain caused by other illnesses that are the result of poor organ health, circulation or metabolic imbalances, using forms and movement to increase flexibility, respiration, cardiac function, and to strengthen organs will bring balance back to the body and eliminate or alleviate the side effects of disease.
