Mental and Self-Defense

True (natural) Martial Arts movements may be different than most people think or even know about. For hundreds of years martial arts were used not only  as a means of self defense but also to rejuvenate the body with  forms and  movements. This is why we are honored to teach many of these forms at the Body Mind Systems Training Centers.

ImageMovements and forms taught in  all the schools have been exclusively passed down from generation to generation here in the United States for over 25 years.  The main focus at each school has always been on the individual student and their development.  We believe that “self defense against a person or two is relatively easy, defending against nature (age) is not”. This is why, our main focus has always been on developing the human body not just defending it. We teach eight different martial arts, three internal, three external, 18 Weapons, and Samurai sword. There are inherent principles within each of these Martial Arts that teach us as human beings.
In martial arts, unlike sports, you’re never too old to learn and develop. Aging may bring with it more physical restrictions, but fewer mental and internal ones - when you’re young it is sometimes  harder to understand the importance of the physical (external) because it is naturally there, however, there may be more mental (internal) restrictions due to a lack of life wisdom (maturity). If you took martial arts when you were young it most likely had a profound affect on your life at some level. Challenge yourself again, or, if you’ve ever thought of trying martial arts, come in for an introductory lesson or speak with an instructor. The decision to become mentally and physically stronger is never a bad decision.
